The Reawakening.
Well I thought it would be a good theme to start afresh with. Like the Phoenix rising from the ashes, my blog shall rise from the digital junkyard, to once again wander into the growing sphere of blogs. This would inevitably be the future of many new innovations to come, and being one of the pioneering batches i felt a certain obligation to devote time to revive my blog.
I am in the middle of the A level Examinations. No doubt I have this huge weight of the examinations upon my shoulders, and every writhing brain nerve is begging me to throw off, I've decided it's not going to be here. No, not in a blog.
What have i decided to do today? Past followers of my blog (of whom i appreciated alot) have known me to just give a show of my discontent for politics, flinging them off me like books off the shelf, but not anymore. Well, at least not for now =D. Politics would never satisfy everyone, but when it does not satisfy MOST of us, the Government's just poking the beehive with a stick. Democracy = People Sting (not stink). That is where i intend to bring out an evaluate some problems for the sake of it.
Now here's my thought today : WHAT goes into a blog? No, not what goes into making it, but its content. Nowadays many of us spend half our lives shackled to our mice and keyboards, and it is no doubt we spend a great deal of time playing games (guilty! =p), surfing the web etc., but a good number of us have spent substantial amounts of time blogging. We have blogs of all kinds, Mr Brown's amazing blog, people blogging about their own lives, politics, hobbies, interests, sports.... you get the idea. So should blogs merely be an online diary? If we touch on political issues and make errors (it is human to err), we could face hefty defamatory charges. If we make insensitive comments (remember that RJC elitist blogger?), which could be by mistake, we offend people and cause much discontent.
My take is, blogs are personal. One seeks to pour out one's burdens to share with the world. That's our society's own way to channelling away stress. This way, i feel every blogger has the right to post anything, because readers either sympathize with you, or dismiss you as an ignorant being. Look at Maddox, the most aggressive blogger I've ever seen. I like his jokes although i get offended by him sometimes, but well at the end off the day i'll just ignore it, and dismiss his site as no more than amusement. Even if it means politics. You can insult the government, and at the end of the day people would just dismiss your blog as being ludicrous (Especially when the government is doing a good job). Making insensitive comments are just ways to backfire onself.
If you get offended by a person's petty remarks, the agitator has won. Blogs are an important means connecting the world, let us not be constraint by its content. You can post racists comments, and my impression would be : what an insensitive worthless loser. Or you can post interesting and amusing articles to share insights and inspirations you have drawn from your daily lives. Let loose the animals into the wild, do not keep them in dens! Let them embrace freedom, and let strayers who go about disrupting harmony be trampled. What a wonderful world =)
With that, signing OfF
